Dr. Jeff Hammer

Dr. Jeff Hammer is the President of Virginia Center for Women. Virginia Center for Women was created in 1990 to meet the obstetrical and gynecological needs of women in the community. Dr. Hammer received his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) and completed his residency at EVMS. Dr. Hammer specializes in gynecology concerns such as endometriosis, pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding. He also has interest in infertility. Dr. Hammer has had over 27 years’ experience in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and also has vast experience in major gynecologic surgery such as hysterectomies, myomectomies and anterior and posterior repairs. Dr. Hammer is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist.

Dr. Hammer has been involved in quality patient care at Chesapeake Reginal Medical Center in many modalities. Dr. Hammer served as the chairman of the department of obstetrics and gynecology from 1994-1996. He also has been president of the medical staff at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center from 1998-1999. Dr. Hammer was selected by the Chesapeake city council to serve as a hospital authority board member from 1999-2010. In his capacity as a trustee for the hospital he served as the chairman for Chesapeake Regional Medical Centers’ quality and patient safety committee from 2006-2010.

Along with his Virginia practice Dr. Hammer also has a practice in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He has been a practicing provider for the Outer Banks community for over 20 years.

When Dr. Hammer is not practicing medicine you can find him with his family enjoying the Outer Banks of North Carolina, combing the North Carolina area for old historic relics and traveling.
